My one of a kind

Chinese new year was superb, as everyone including myself had an enjoyable moment throughout the long week.
i am still getting myself out of the dark long tunnel of the festive mood
apart from all the late nights, which seriously made me kinda drained
and again, apart from the questioning from relatives: “why are you so dark?”
(i really explained till mouth dropped)
the 2010 new year experience is one of a kind
a memorable one; as i always like to indulge in family warmth

we went to the seventh mile river when we stepped onto hometown, tapah
reunion dinner was a simple one
first day of cny made the whole ambience reds and pinks, including some other colours
gambling for almost a couple of hours
slowly tasting the all time favourite, grandma’s cooked porridge.
lou shang during dinner at cousin’s restaurant (Hou Yi Lou)
second day with the wanton mee for breakkie
then went to big aunt’s house (the very kampung feel), gambled again of course
tea time at Tapah Rest House
went crazy with all the funny jumping shots during evening
fire crackers went bonkers at night
third day a buffet lunch at cousin/aunt’s new house at kampar
cuddled with kiddos
playing with cards
and sleeping on the massaging chair – a total life
not to miss out, those supper times with maggie tomyam, goreng, roti bom and teh tarik
obviously, the 2000 photos that we took -  an awesome new record for 2010!
- that defines why i love cny that much, with bunch of cousies and relatives, making warmth and memories in a familiar setting where we find comfort.

of course, its impossibly to upload all photos here.
refer to my facebook if you wanna take a look at them

and so.
i had a great week :)
the day that i have been looking forward to ends for 2010
- time to face back to reality.

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2009

DSC00976

Chinese New Year 2009 was another special one. Although, as we are growing up year by year, I realised our heart has never grow old at all. We were so called “so childish” still. However, the question is “Who Cares”, as long as we are happy and enjoyed ourselves in this once in a year Chinese festival. Frankly, I love Chinese New Year alot. Reason is being so simple, because I can celebrate it with my beloved family and relatives. Especially with my bunch of cousins. Every year, we planned for our own activities, we made it fun and memorable. This year alone, I can conclude that its really as fun and memorable, and added few significant “specials” to it.

Photos taken during the six days back in Tapah can only be showed the partials. Our insanity made us took more than 1,000 shots. As such, thanks to photoscap for making my task easier here. For more photos, please kindly visit my facebook albums. Have uploaded them in separate 4 albums.

cny1 The first few days in Tapah was a great one. Our family was the first one to reach. Chinese New Year eve was good too. We got our reunion dinner in buffet style, with mix of curries, bee hoon, rice, roti prata, tosai, and few dishes plus fruits. Overall, the atmosphere went so noisy with laughter, joys, voices of children, chatting.  At a moment, I felt happiness and I smiled to myself. The long waited reunion dinner thus ended in just a blink, taking away with me were the memories and the big fat tummy.

First day of the Chinese New Year… I woke up somehow late, and thus it went so rushed. Uncle Jeff and family reached Tapah early morning. We went for breakfast together at a small outlet run by muslims. Unforgettably, their Nasi Lemak…was great! Now I am craving for it after mentioning it. Then we went photo shooting again. Took with sister and brother, cousin Michelle and mum.

DSCN3029 So I just let the pictures tell the story. I know I looked gay, no need to mention on that still. This year, my cousin Seng, came back home with his newly wedded wife, Misah. He has converted to a muslim with a new name, Mohd Sofian bin Abdullah. That was a long family story. Importantly, our family has accepted the fact now. Everything went fine and merry. Well, actually his wife not bad too. Friendly and cheerful. And below is the photo taken during the dinner:

DSCN3164

During that afternoon, we get ourselves changed for a water activity at her Kampung. It was a very nice river leading to the water fall – 7th Miles Waterfall (Way to Cameron Highlands).  (Kampung Baru Sg Woh). We got ourselves a great time there, water was cold, Daddy was playing like a kid (he says it reminds him of his childhood). Haha. Of course, photo shooting is a must. After which, we went wet and mad. After which, we had a great tea time ("cukur sayur" – deep fried flour dough with beansprout, chive and big onions, and jugs of iced cool syrup water by her parents.) Its terribly nice. Although its made with simple ingredients, the taste was unique.

DSCN3065cny2 And so. We had a dinner at HOU YI LOU RESTAURANT opened by my cousin. Please visit http://foodbin.blogspot.com/ for more details or click on the link above for that entry and photos of the delicious dishes. One thing lured my attention, everyone had their smiles on their face after the dinner. Great dishes, and great people. So lively, somehow, hope that time freezes. Don know why, I love to have meal with family and relatives, because the feelings is so different and special. Warmth and happiness. =)

On the second day of the festive season, we went around gambling (of course) and went around for photo shooting. Somehow, we went “Super Model” shooting session. And thus, the photos compiled. And not to forget those funny and crazy poses. I really admired ourselves. Somehow, you might think we are insane, but its really damn fun. Moreover, that day, Miss Teluk Intan (Our Teluk Intan cousin, Iris) joined us. Everything went havoc with her camera shooting like nobody’s business. And so, let you got a taste of our photoshoot skill:

cny3cny5

cny4  During evening, we had our dinner at our Big Aunt’s house. Home made dishes, delicious too. =) And got a chatting session with my aunts and grandma. Then, photo shoot again. Well, really pure photo shoot. Ended up everyone was laughing loudly because of many funny actions. And now, the hall of fame:

cny7cny6 Night time was great too. We had supper! In search for my Maggie Goreng that night. Maggie Goreng plus teh tarik besar, perfect match, heavenly. =)

Third day. We headed to Ipoh for shopping session. Sister got her boyfriend a Guess watch. What a rich lady. I wish if I got a girl friend, buying me a Guess Watch…how good would that be? Haha. I am dreaming, Ya… Haha. Then we headed to Parkson for Starbucks! The thing that cant live without! Haha. And we had our lunch at GUO CHENG BEER HOUSE. Nice one, although we are not for beer. But the most significant were the sotong and mee with fried squid. Nice! =)

cny10 cny8 cny9The day was tiring, but fulfilling. Mum treated the family a dinner at Restoran Tonny at night (opened by my uncle). Please visit http://foodbin.blogspot.com/ for details and photos again. At night, we went to Cyber cafe for LAN games. Haha. And headed for  supper again with Roti Tisu and Roti Bom. Haha. Nice one. Putting on significant weight. =P

And so, it went so merry go around. Fourth day, we headed back to Johor Bahru once again. We are back home, ready for another round of war. Fighting for our goals, achieving our new missions for the year. On one note, hope that the economy will turn well this year (which is unlikely), and glad that Daddy’s business is on a forecasted green lane at least till this July. New plans for the year too. And now, I am back to face my buddies (notes). Charge ah!

With one last paragraph, somehow I felt so fortunate to be in this family. It gave me sense of family warmth, happiness and care. Theres really nothing to complain about it. I love them, my family members and relatives. Soon, we gonna meet again. Lets live our new year with hope, achievements and cheers. Jia you la, 2009!

Brand New Year of 2009, Continuing Dynamism!

The past few weeks has been a very MIA one. Somehow, it was the most enjoyable moment for the year 2008. I ever had myself living without knowing the time. Just move forward and forward till its already year 2009. Let me conclude the few weeks before the new year commences.

Before the start of the so called term break, went met up with Felix, Des, JC, Liting and Estee. Had a great gathering with them. When we were on our way to Sakae in Suntec City, we managed to write the wishes in the white balls. We were told that it was meant for the new year countdown event. Nice. After dinner at Sakae Sushi, headed to Paulaner again after much consideration. Lol. Just something light there. After which, went back to Malaysia for my long holiday.

With my family, we did alot of things. Went jogging with mum, went shopping and shopping in the newly opened Jusco at Bukit Indah, celebrated 冬至 (Dong Zhi) with Family by eating Tang Yuan-Nice, bought something for Chinese New Year, karaoke with family, sister changed to new workplace, brother back from Taiwan, doing banking stuffs and many many precious moments with family members basically.

Seriously, I am looking forward for the coming Chinese New Year on this coming end of January. Because I am able to go back to my hometown and really spend time with all my relatives and friends. And which it simply means, it gonna be a very busy month.

DSC02431I really lost touch with my academic stuffs. Need to reconnect myself back now. Its gonna be a tough period, but I believe I can do it. Rather, in this brand new year of 2009, I wishes everyone to have a great year ahead, may the financial crisis be called “over” soon. New year, of course new hopes. However, in 2009, I will continue to progress with progresses.

I am ready, 2009!

Approaching another new year

Gonna be M-I-A for the following weeks. Back to Johor with my family. But anyway, wishing everyone enjoy their holiday in this festive season.

In advance,

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

and

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009

Cheers!

Best Momentum Week

This week, I mean the week that I had, was really extremely great. Think probably its a gift for me after my dental appointment. Let me just wrap up the whole week short and sweet, but still I think this will gonna be a long entry with tonnes of photos. In short, I will just touch on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday. It was such a nice day to study in the school library. Everything went so well till night. Although no lecture for us, we (I meant Felix, Sok Chen, Audrey, Jet and myself) were all in school. We had lunch and dinner together twice in Megabites, we chat alot and laughed alot. Damn hell funny though. I think it was the best school moment for me so far. After dinner, around 7 pm, I donno whose idea was it, to go drink. Anyway, I did not know anything before we left the library. Haha. So, I learnt that it was a sudden decision and we were like so on and pom pee pee, packed bag and headed to City Hall station by train.

(Me, Zoe, Audrey and Felix – on our way to Cityhall @ Clementi Station)

And so, we went there. Searching for Paulaner. Managed to reach there at around 8 pm. But we missed the Happy Hours. And so, the story started. Everyone was damn happy and so pai seh to tell, my first time to drink. Haha.

n813030057_4967390_3225

(Paulaner Munchen Logo – A signature of enjoyment)

And so, we order-ed, I felt so kuku that I really do not know what to order. Was rendering “Milo Ice” in my mind. And anyhow, started to drink Dark Brew. Nice nice. Then tried Vodka Lime. The taste is extremely addictive. Simply gonna like it.

(Dark Brew)

Rather, we continued to talk and chat till we donno what happened and what happened next. I remembered I drank around 3 dark and one Vodka Lime. And every thing went so damn high. Laughter continued and we went really bonkers. What I can recall was that Audrey and me keep saying tipsy and time for game theory etc, while Felix went smoking and we were like laughing hell out loud, then that Sok Chen and Jet went to toilet for so long, realised taking photos up there. LOL. Then everything continued till around 11 pm. I know, I were damn drunk and blur, high still, was laughing on the train on our way back. And we really went insane on the train, everyone was looking at us. Haha. Even the uncle sitting besides Audrey laughed at us. Oh my, and so, pictorial time.

So, we went real happy. And lets call it a day – End of Thursday. We are still good kids after all. =)

Here comes Friday. Went for Corporate Finance lecture. So excited for me and Fenglin as we gonna head for Christmas Party hosted by Swee San and her sister. So fun. Headed to Jurong Point to collect Fenglin stuffs and ate and ate on our way there. We were the earliest followed by Yanling and Muffin, then Jie Xin and Ting Ting. Just a pity that Eileen cannot join us in the end. And so, we got great food, great time, great props and great companies. So funny during our photo shooting session. Haha. After some activities, we ended up drinking in one room. Started by Romeo and Juliet, then Everyday Red, and then more hiong, Vodka Lemon. Lol. And so so so so, everything went blaberring blur again…and woke up in the morning feeling so hell headache. But in conclusion, I never had such a great time with YJR before, its something worth really remembering. Haha. Thanks Swee San and Family for everything. You made our moments together enjoyable again.

Twilight will be the second one. I wanna sing k, I wanna go club, I wanna go countdown and I wanna shop with mum. Haha. And so the list keeps on going down. But first thing, study!!! Haha. So sian. Tomoro school again. Boring. But in conclusion, I had a fulfilling week. There are many things that I wanna note down, but simply too much to write here.

PS: Brother flew to Taiwan on Saturday. Tsk.

New Web. New Image!

First of all, I would like to thank Felix for helping me in almost all the technical issues of setting up this website. Haha. Not easy for him, for him to work till 1.30 am yesterday morning. This is insane but really grateful to have him as my friend man.

Is it nice? Haha. Love it so much. Although there are more to be done, but yeah, its almost there. So do give some comments. Your comments are useful for improvements.

I haven been studying hard these few days…yeap, not yet. Firstly, because of shows/dramas. Secondly, because of setting up a web page like this. ( I know this is a stupid reason). Thirdly, I simply became lazy! Haha. Frankly speaking, after school started, I have not really sit down and study. No matter what, I just felt that this year is gonna be a tough year. I kept telling myself, not to worry about anything and do not stress yourself out. Haha. We, (Lily and I) kept ponning school. Lol. This is bad, I think I am the one who is influencing her.

Monday had a boring and lonely Elements of Econometrics class. Luckily that I am able to catch up with the lecture. Hehe. Found it quite easy and interesting. Just needs alot of brain power still. Well, is there anything that does not use brain? After which, went for dinner with Felix at Botak Jones (Clementi). First time trying, nice one. Had a great talk with Felix, which then I decided to buy own domain. Glad that Felix had helped me in hosting the web for a great start.

Recently, I have recieved an email from a friend, telling us the new way to carjack in Malaysia. Alamak, Malaysians are rather creative in a way, but why dont they use their creativity to develope the country instead?

“Subject:

New way to Carjack in Malaysia.

Just last weekend on Friday night, we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car. Then we received this email yesterday:WARNING FROM POLICE

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE – NEW WAY TO DO CAR-JACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)You walk across the car parking, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rear view mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into neutral, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT’S NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands. “

Ridiculous! Suddenly felt so dangerous, which I called my mum to tell her about it. So people, becareful!=)

Lastly, Wishing all Muslims SELAMT HARI RAYA!
