Chinese New Year 2009 was another special one. Although, as we are growing up year by year, I realised our heart has never grow old at all. We were so called “so childish” still. However, the question is “Who Cares”, as long as we are happy and enjoyed ourselves in this once in a year Chinese festival. Frankly, I love Chinese New Year alot. Reason is being so simple, because I can celebrate it with my beloved family and relatives. Especially with my bunch of cousins. Every year, we planned for our own activities, we made it fun and memorable. This year alone, I can conclude that its really as fun and memorable, and added few significant “specials” to it.
Photos taken during the six days back in Tapah can only be showed the partials. Our insanity made us took more than 1,000 shots. As such, thanks to photoscap for making my task easier here. For more photos, please kindly visit my facebook albums. Have uploaded them in separate 4 albums.
The first few days in Tapah was a great one. Our family was the first one to reach. Chinese New Year eve was good too. We got our reunion dinner in buffet style, with mix of curries, bee hoon, rice, roti prata, tosai, and few dishes plus fruits. Overall, the atmosphere went so noisy with laughter, joys, voices of children, chatting. At a moment, I felt happiness and I smiled to myself. The long waited reunion dinner thus ended in just a blink, taking away with me were the memories and the big fat tummy.
First day of the Chinese New Year… I woke up somehow late, and thus it went so rushed. Uncle Jeff and family reached Tapah early morning. We went for breakfast together at a small outlet run by muslims. Unforgettably, their Nasi Lemak…was great! Now I am craving for it after mentioning it. Then we went photo shooting again. Took with sister and brother, cousin Michelle and mum.

So I just let the pictures tell the story. I know I looked gay, no need to mention on that still. This year, my cousin Seng, came back home with his newly wedded wife, Misah. He has converted to a muslim with a new name, Mohd Sofian bin Abdullah. That was a long family story. Importantly, our family has accepted the fact now. Everything went fine and merry. Well, actually his wife not bad too. Friendly and cheerful. And below is the photo taken during the dinner:

During that afternoon, we get ourselves changed for a water activity at her Kampung. It was a very nice river leading to the water fall – 7th Miles Waterfall (Way to Cameron Highlands). (Kampung Baru Sg Woh). We got ourselves a great time there, water was cold, Daddy was playing like a kid (he says it reminds him of his childhood). Haha. Of course, photo shooting is a must. After which, we went wet and mad. After which, we had a great tea time ("cukur sayur" – deep fried flour dough with beansprout, chive and big onions, and jugs of iced cool syrup water by her parents.) Its terribly nice. Although its made with simple ingredients, the taste was unique.

And so. We had a dinner at HOU YI LOU RESTAURANT opened by my cousin. Please visit http://foodbin.blogspot.com/ for more details or click on the link above for that entry and photos of the delicious dishes. One thing lured my attention, everyone had their smiles on their face after the dinner. Great dishes, and great people. So lively, somehow, hope that time freezes. Don know why, I love to have meal with family and relatives, because the feelings is so different and special. Warmth and happiness. =)
On the second day of the festive season, we went around gambling (of course) and went around for photo shooting. Somehow, we went “Super Model” shooting session. And thus, the photos compiled. And not to forget those funny and crazy poses. I really admired ourselves. Somehow, you might think we are insane, but its really damn fun. Moreover, that day, Miss Teluk Intan (Our Teluk Intan cousin, Iris) joined us. Everything went havoc with her camera shooting like nobody’s business. And so, let you got a taste of our photoshoot skill:

During evening, we had our dinner at our Big Aunt’s house. Home made dishes, delicious too. =) And got a chatting session with my aunts and grandma. Then, photo shoot again. Well, really pure photo shoot. Ended up everyone was laughing loudly because of many funny actions. And now, the hall of fame:

Night time was great too. We had supper! In search for my Maggie Goreng that night. Maggie Goreng plus teh tarik besar, perfect match, heavenly. =)
Third day. We headed to Ipoh for shopping session. Sister got her boyfriend a Guess watch. What a rich lady. I wish if I got a girl friend, buying me a Guess Watch…how good would that be? Haha. I am dreaming, Ya… Haha. Then we headed to Parkson for Starbucks! The thing that cant live without! Haha. And we had our lunch at GUO CHENG BEER HOUSE. Nice one, although we are not for beer. But the most significant were the sotong and mee with fried squid. Nice! =)
The day was tiring, but fulfilling. Mum treated the family a dinner at Restoran Tonny at night (opened by my uncle). Please visit http://foodbin.blogspot.com/ for details and photos again. At night, we went to Cyber cafe for LAN games. Haha. And headed for supper again with Roti Tisu and Roti Bom. Haha. Nice one. Putting on significant weight. =P

And so, it went so merry go around. Fourth day, we headed back to Johor Bahru once again. We are back home, ready for another round of war. Fighting for our goals, achieving our new missions for the year. On one note, hope that the economy will turn well this year (which is unlikely), and glad that Daddy’s business is on a forecasted green lane at least till this July. New plans for the year too. And now, I am back to face my buddies (notes). Charge ah!
With one last paragraph, somehow I felt so fortunate to be in this family. It gave me sense of family warmth, happiness and care. Theres really nothing to complain about it. I love them, my family members and relatives. Soon, we gonna meet again. Lets live our new year with hope, achievements and cheers. Jia you la, 2009!
